LOCATION

DAVIDSON

The Town of Davidson is home to Davidson College and is closely connected to the campus and its students. Founded in 1879, the Town is designed with pedestrians and bikers in mind, creating a close-knit, walk-able community. Locals frequent Davidson’s historic downtown. Main Street is lined with an eclectic array of locally owned shops, galleries and restaurants with The Village Green at the center. The Green serves as the social hub for many of the Town’s annual events including the Concerts on the Green music series, Boy Scout meetings and Art Festivals. Davidson is one of the most desirable locations in the Greater Charlotte area, committed to smart growth while maintaining its unique small-town character and values.

FISHER FARM

A truly special place less than 1 mile from Green Level, this Town of Davidson Park is a nature lover’s Eden. Fisher Farm is deliberately unimproved, featuring over 200 pristine acres including a mix of open meadows and mature hardwood forest along the Rocky River. You will not find paved parking lots, soccer fields or playgrounds, but you will find mile after mile of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. Fisher Farm is also the perfect place for a picnic, to take your dog for a long walk, or enjoy a rest on an Eagle Scout’s bench. You will not be disappointed.

AREA SCHOOLS

Green Level lies within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system (CMS). The community is served by the National Blue Ribbon Award-winning Davidson Elementary, Bailey Middle School and Hough High School. The community is a short drive from some of the Charlotte region’s finest private schools: Woodlawn School (5 miles), Davidson Day School (7 miles), and Cannon School (12 miles). A variety of Charter Schools are also within reach, including Community School of Davidson, Pine Lake Preparatory and Lake Norman Charter to name a few.

DAVIDSON FARMER’S MARKET

A Saturday morning tradition. The Davidson Farmer’s Market is a producer-only market featuring more than 35 farmers and local producers year-round. The Market offers locally grown vegetables, meats, cheeses, artisan breads, fresh cut flowers, honey and more. Beyond the great food, the Market is a gathering place. Located just off Main Street between Summit Coffee and Ben & Jerry’s, you are almost guaranteed to see a neighbor, teacher or friend shopping, visiting a food truck or listening to great music. Get some fresh air, learn about our local food chain, let the kids play, and then enjoy it all over again at dinner.

LAKE NORMAN

Lake Norman is one of the anchors of life in the Davidson area.  Weighing in at over 50 square miles with 520 miles of shoreline, it is the largest man made lake in North Carolina.  Lake Norman is known throughout the region as a water lover’s paradise, offering something for everyone.  Water skiing, tubing, jet skis, sand volleyball, concerts, picnics or just kicking back on a boat with friends are all popular activities.  Served by a broad array of marinas, public ramps and two different yacht clubs, getting to the water is never a problem.  Lake Norman is also highly regarded for its fishing and the undeveloped shoreline of Lake Norman State Park offers plenty of opportunity for wildlife sightings.
